From Shane (favorite son)

One of the things I remember is that when it was my turn to do the dishes Mom would come help me clean up… From what I can recall, it wasn’t like I whined because I had to do it so she took pity on me or something… But it felt more like she wanted to help as a way to show her love for me.  That would be our special time together where we would talk and I felt like she really cared about getting to know me better. That always meant so much to me. I really loved the way she worked beside me and made me feel special, important, and loved. I can never remember a single unkind word ever coming out of her mouth and that really set the bar high for me. It makes me want to live my life better because of the example and the way she lived hers.  A fun memory of mom was at reunions… I always think of her doing her white socks skit. I just always remember “slide you fool slide!” she cracked me up… I have such fond memories of her skits in the talent shows. I still laugh just thinking about it. I love you mom!

Love, Shane
